Buttweld Fittings
Welded directly to the pipe end. The strongest, smoothest-flow joint, used for most process and utility piping.
Process lines, large boresElbows, tees, reducers, caps, stub ends, couplings and unions for piping systems — in stainless, duplex, carbon and alloy steel and nickel alloys.

A fitting has to match the pipe it joins — in grade, wall thickness and end type — or the whole line is compromised.
We supply buttweld fittings for welded pipework and forged fittings for small-bore, socket-weld and threaded lines. Every fitting is ordered by material, specification, size and schedule, and carries its heat number.
If you are not sure which type of fitting suits your piping class, share your pipe specification and we will help you match it.
The connection method decides the family; the piping class decides the grade and schedule.

Welded directly to the pipe end. The strongest, smoothest-flow joint, used for most process and utility piping.
Process lines, large bores
02
Forged from solid stock for high pressure in small bores. Supplied in socket-weld and threaded forms.
Small-bore, high-pressure lines
03
The pipe is inserted into a socket and fillet welded. Easy alignment for small-bore piping.

Dimensions: ASME B16.9 (buttweld), ASME B16.11 (forged), MSS SP-43 (stainless stub ends). Availability depends on grade and size.
The parts you will see on most piping bills of material.
| Fitting | Variants | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Elbow | 90° · 45° · 180° return; long radius (1.5D) & short radius (1D) | Changes direction of the line. |
| Tee | Equal · reducing | Creates a branch from the main line. |
| Reducer | Concentric · eccentric | Joins pipes of different sizes. |
| Cap | Buttweld · socket-weld | Closes the end of a pipe. |
| Stub end | Long · short pattern | Used with a lap-joint flange. |
| Coupling · Union · Nipple | Full · half · threaded | Joins or extends small-bore lines. |

MTC 3.1 or 3.2, PMI or third-party inspection.
Mill test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2, PMI, hydro and NDT testing, and third-party inspection can be arranged. Read how every order is checked.

Ask on WhatsAppA long radius elbow has a bend radius of 1.5 times the nominal pipe size; a short radius elbow has a radius equal to the nominal size. Long radius gives smoother flow and lower pressure drop and is the usual choice, while short radius saves space.
Forged fittings are normally used for small-bore pipework (typically up to NPS 4) and for high-pressure service, in socket-weld or threaded form. Buttweld fittings are used for most welded process piping, especially in larger sizes.
They are the pressure ratings of forged socket-weld and threaded fittings under ASME B16.11. The classes mainly differ in wall thickness: a higher class means a thicker, stronger body. Threaded fittings are made in classes 2000, 3000 and 6000.
Yes — fittings are supplied with a mill test certificate. Ask for EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 and mention PMI or third-party inspection when you enquire. See our Quality Policy.
